Moonspell
Portuguese metal band founded in 1992 At first the band played folk/black metal, later the band is usually described as Gothic doom metal. Vocalist and lyricist Fernando Ribeiro himself uses the expression "devil's music".
Moonspell first hit the Portuguese charts with the album Sin/Pecado, and their 2006 album Memorial in the first week reached the first place. Before Moonspell from metal bands in Portugal, only Metallica and Iron Maiden achieved such success.
